QHC Owner
Jim Rauland not only owns Quality Home Consultants, he is also a North Carolina Registered Pest Technician, Licensed Contractor, and Home Inspector. He has completed over 11,000 inspections since obtaining his Home Inspector license in 1998. When not enjoying life with his wife Jennifer and children, Miranda, DJ, Carter, Kennedy, Archer, and Slater he enjoys his hobbies of fishing, saltwater fish tanks, and studying for a future pilot’s license.

Jennifer is a WNC native. After leaving the area for some traveling, she attended college at UNCW and WCU earning degrees in Medical Anthropology and Psychology then settled back here in the beautiful mountains. Not long after, Jennifer and Jim met. They worked together to grow Quality Home Consultants as a business, and after marrying, they grew their family of four to a family of eight. While she enjoys being in the office to assist agents and clients, most of her time is spent with Carter, Kennedy, Archer and Slater. Jennifer enjoys hiking with her family and sneaking away to the beach any chance she gets!

Chris was born in Lincolnton, NC and attended Afton Vo-Tech. He received his Mason’s and General Contractor’s license and minored in business at Tulsa University. He later managed a steel mill in Hickory, NC for 18 years then later switched to home inspections, receiving his license in 2014

Hello my name is Jeff Tillery, I am married to my wonderful wife Sheena and we have three beautiful children, Garrett, Grace and Griffin. After earning a degree in turf management and spending over 20 years in the golf course industry I began searching for a new direction in my career. My interest in home inspections began during several construction jobs I was involved in during my time as a golf course manager and during construction of my own homes. I was fascinated in how a home and all of it’s components performed and that remains the same today. I have been a licensed home inspector for 9 years now and have completed several hundred inspections. Over the years, there has been one thing missing from my business and that is not having a team behind me to share my thoughts and learn new things about the home inspection industry with. Quality Home Consultants provides the supportive, engaging environment I have been missing and I am thrilled to be part of their team. I look forward to working with you in the future.

Native to WNC, Danny graduated from West Henderson and has worked in the construction industry his entire career. Danny has been a licensed General Contractor since 2005 and is experienced in all aspects of the construction of homes. Danny joined the QHC team in 2018 and he considers it an honor to take part in your investment.

Matt Hinker was born and raised in Ohio. He decided to make WNC his home in 2007 after visiting family who lived here. His background is in home renovations and remodeling. He became a licensed NC home inspector in 2018. Matt enjoys hunting, fishing, college football and spending time outdoors.

Chris Schell graduated from the University of North Carolina – Asheville in 2007 and has worked in the environmental consulting industry throughout the country for the past twelve years. Chris has also been involved in several residential construction remodels since 2015 and later became a licensed NC home inspector in 2018. Chris quickly learned that he is truly passionate about inspecting homes and assisting clients in gaining a better understanding of their investment. He currently resides in Brevard, NC, where in his spare time, enjoys mountain biking, hiking, and fishing with his wife and puppy. Chris is very enthusiastic and excited to be a part of the QHC team and looks forward to inspecting your home in the future.

Robert began his home inspection career in 2001 in Houston, TX, Robert worked for several inspection companies until 2009. In April of 2009, Robert started his own inspection company and operated it until he moved to North Carolina in February 2020. After Visiting WNC in 2018 Robert and his family decided to make WNC their new home. With nearly 20 years of experience, Robert’s expertise is paralleled by few. In addition to his extensive experience, he stays on top of new trends in the residential construction industry to ensure his clients receive the most up-to-date information possible. Robert is very friendly and personable and is looking forward to performing a home inspection for you.

J.R. Roché was born in Long Island NY but moved to Florida with his family at 10. There his family opened a General Contractor’s company…Roché Contractors. J.R. met his wife Kim of 33 years in Florida through work friends. Eventually J.R. decided to open his own contractor business in 2005. Being a very hands on GC for more than 20 years has allowed him to develop a wide skill set that is critical as a home inspector. In 2019 J.R and Kim decided to move to NC after spending a week in their vacation home in Chimney Rock. The reason? They say they always felt happier and more at ease here in WNC. And escaping the Florida heat was a nice bonus!
